Houses Colonial - Pyin Oo Lwin Myanmar
Pyin Oo Lwin has many UK settlement buildings and churches. The majority of our buildings are located at the southern end of the Ringstrasse. Founded in 1904 by the Bombay Burma Trading Company, the Candacraig Hotel was a guesthouse. The Nan Myaing Hotel, formerly the Craddock Court Recreation Centre.
The Gandamar Myaing is one of the old villas, formerly known as'Croxton', that have been transformed into a luxury resort. Originally the governor's house was constructed in 1903 and totally demolished around 1943. This imposing reproduction of the governor's house can be visited as a high-class motel.
The All Saints Anglican Church, established in 1912, is one of the historic Church of Pyin Oo Lwin.

To do what
Tailoring your holiday to your needs. The former Maymyo mountain railway terminus, now formally known as Pyin Oo Lwin, is a picturesque two-hour ride from Mandalay. Maymyo still has many memories of settlement, among them brickwork and wooden buildings with English name ( "Candacraig", 1905, perhaps the best example) and the 175 hectare well-kept botanical garden in the north.
There is a large variety of products, such as marmalades and fruity wine, at the village center near the watch-house. In the past Pyin Oo Lwin was only taken as a full-time trip from Mandalay, although we suggest that you plan at least one overnight stay here to make the most of the Botanical Garden, and then a return to Mandalay by early bird watch on the early hours of the Gothic viaduct or for the more advanced on the way to Hsipaw!
