Giant's Causeway

The Giant's Causeway

Explore the amazing stones on the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland with the National Trust. Giant's Causeway is located at the foot of the basalt cliffs along the sea coast on the edge of the Antrim Plateau in Northern Ireland. The Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland's first UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a geological wonder and home to a wealth of history and legends.

Innumerable people have been amazed by the grandeur and secret of Giants Causeway for hundreds of years. Our guests are fascinated and inspired by the robust symmetrical pillars. Walking along the Giants Causeway is a journey into the past. The Giants Causeway Visitor Center was opened in 1986, at the same inauguration of the Causeway to the prestigious tourist attractions of the world.

Causeway Center amenities now comprise tourist information bureaus, Bureau De Change, accommodation booking services, an audio-visual presentation and a souvenir shop. National Trust is the administrator of the Causeway and provides the National Trust Shop and the tea rooms (please ask directly for opening hours). Causeway Coaster buses from the center to the Causeway now run in connection with the opening time.

Our services are tailored to your needs and make sure that all our visitors are able to profit from their stay and experience it. It attracts half a million visitors who come to the Giants Causeway every year. Our managers, employees and our institutions will be at your service during a tour which we trust will be the first of many.

The majority of our places run the Gift Aid on Entrance programme at their doors. If you are not a member, you have the option of two tickets: When the place is equipped with Gift Aid on arrival, we provide you with a clear option between the entrance fees for Gift Aid and the standard entrance fees at the point of entrance.

Admission to the gift aid program involves a volunteer contribution of 10 percent or more. By accepting gifts, we can recover the entire amount of VAT on the amount we pay - that is 25 percent more - which can mean a significant increase in our sites' assets. A £1 additional payment under the programme may be more than £3 for the National Trust, as shown below:

Gift vouchers allow us to claim back the entire amount of VAT on the amount we pay - 25 percent more - which may mean a significant increase in our locations' assets.
