The seventh month of the Myanmar calendar, Thadingyut, is the end of Buddhist Lent or Vassa. The Thadingyut festival lasts three days: the day before the full moon day, the full moon day and the day after the full moon day. This holiday falls on the full moon of the Buddhist month of Thadingyut, shortly after the end of Lent. In the Gregorian calendar it often falls sometime in October. The full moon day of Thadingyut is also known as Myanmar's "Festival of Lights".
