The former airlines in Myanmar had four national airlines named Air-Mandalay, Yangon Air Ways and Air-Bagan. Two airlines bearing the name Asian Wings & Air KBZ (Air Kanbawza) will also be successfully opened in March & April 2011. Myanmar's local aviation sector, another new carrier, is booming.
Mandalay's first company, Mann Yadanarpon Airlines, was founded on 5 March 2014. The first Myanmar-based local air transport company, Air Mandalay Limited, was established on 6 October 1994. Partners are the domestic airlines Myanmar Airways, Air Mandalay Holdings Pte Ltd from Singapore and Premier Airlines Pte Ltd from Malaysia. Currently we are flying to all important Myanmar and Chiang Mai in Thailand.
Mandalay Air with one 72 and two 42 aircraft flies from Yangon to Bagan, Mandalay, Heho, Tachileik, Kyaing Tong and Sittwe and from October to May to Thandwe. Besides these local flights, there are also offers from Yangon to Chiang Mai, Chaing Mai to Mandalay and, if desired, charters to all possible locations.
This color symbolizes the many gold palagodas that can be found all over Myanmar - the Gold Land. Bourgogne means the color of the garments that Buddhist friars wear in Myanmar and thus stands for the sacred world. The Mandalay Air is the only carrier in Myanmar with this certification. Xangon Airways was founded in October 1996 as a German carrier in a JV between Myanma Airways, the state-owned flag carrier and Krong-Sombat Co. of Thailand. MHE Mayflower Co. purchased Krong-Sombat's stake in Yangon Airways in October 1997 and has since become one of the major German airlines offering regular and charters flights from Yangon to 13 major business and tourism locations in Myanmar.
At the moment Yangon Airways offers flights to all important travel locations in Myanmar, e.g.: Yangon, Mandalay, Nyaung U (Bagan), Heho, Kyaing Tong, Tachileik, Lashio and Thandwe from October to April (high season). As well as these local routes, services from Yangon to Dawei, Myeik and Kawthaung without Thandwe are also available from May to September (low season).

Myanmar's local aviation sector is booming. The first Mandalay carrier, Mann Yadanarpon Airlines, will start operating national flights from Yangon to Nyaung U, Mandalay and Heho in Myanmar on 5 March 2014. Yadanarpon Airlines will take off from Yangon for Nyaung U at 5.50am on 5 March, arrive in Nyaung U at 7.10am before leaving Nyaung U for Mandalay at 7.25am and reaching Mandalay at 7.55am.
7Y112 takes off for his first Mandalay trip to Heho at 8.10 a.m. on the same date, before landing at 8.40 a.m. in Heho. He will return from Heho to Yangon at 8.55 a.m. and land in Yangon at 10 a.m. Mann Yadanapon Airlines' internal flights are performed with the self-purchased ATR 72-600s.
On December 8, 2013, the carrier took over its first ATR 72-600 jet with "XY-AJO" certification from ATR headquarters in Toulouse, France. Renamed after Mandalay's old regal name the name of Mandalay, Mann Jadanarpon Airlines is the third fully owned and operated carrier after Golden Myanmar Airlines and FMI Air Charter.
Further envisaged home ports are Naypitaw, Bhamo, Myitkyina, Putao, Homalin and Kalay, to name but a few. In addition to the gradual coverage of all Myanmar's internal Myanmar airport, the new company is planning to offer flights from Yangon to Chiang Mai, Suvarnabhumi and Phuket in the middle to the rest of the country.
