Explore Travel Burma

Discover Burma as a travel destination

The north of Burma is more popular; few visitors are currently exploring the south. Burma is one of the most interesting countries in Asia. Truly excited to get on a bus/train and explore the country. Discover ancient temples in Bagan and the colonial streets of Yangon.

A holiday in Burma is like no other: Visit the temples of Bagan, explore the colonial Yangon or just let yourself be enchanted by Burmese hospitality.

Public holiday - Discover

In this cycling tour we travel through the centre of Thailand and the dozy backwater of South Burma (Myanmar). Seldom do we have groups smaller than five or six persons, and the mean is 12 persons plus an Explore Instructor. Please choose the route you would like to explore.

There is an option to take a long tail ferry trip on the town' s river channels - an excellent way to explore Bangkok's backwater networks that diverge from the Chao Phraya River. You can also go to the Royal Palace if you have the necessary amount of free day. It was this powerful defence post that enabled the town to maintain control for over 400 years, during which period it became very rich.

Today we go to a souvenir shop to get some picnics before we walk through the Kampaeng Phet area. From here we cycle through dozy cities and countryside to have our picknick and unwind in the shadow of a nearby Khlong Khang Nai Tam.

At the end of our drive shortly before Sukhothai we bring the last small stretch with the car to our motel. We are only a few minutes drive from Sukhothai Historical Park and the first thing this mornings we explore the old remains by bike. Our trail is ideal for exploration on two bikes, about 11 km on the plain and should bring us about 2 km.

We' re leaving early this mornin' to get to Burma! It' a brief trip to the Burmese Explore Leader's frontier and we say good-bye to our Thai Leader and his team. It will be to use the possibilities of currency change and the ATM. It will be an astonishing experience as we explore more of the caverns and churches around Hpa An.

Rudyard Ki-pling came to the former UK capitol of Lower Burma, Madlamyine, in 1889 and described it. There' s a lot to discover! There will be a brief orienteering trip and a walk along the promenade at sundown. We' ll take the coach back to the town of Manlamyine, where you'll have some free day to explore on your own.

Our bike path leads us off the well-trodden paths through'real' Burma on a mix of cobbled and dirt tracks. We will stop in a nearby building for a teabreak or to enjoy a cup of coffee or a cup of coffee (chin alone). We hike from here for about 45 min. to the mystic and much admired Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda, in good season for dusk.

To hike all the way up the hill, please talk to the guide first and you'll have to miss the bike trip this morning. The trip ends after breakfasts. This route takes us 530 km over eleven consecutive journeys (48 km per daily on average). There is a handle bar case or pocket in Thailand, but not in Burma.

Unfortunately, recent incidents involving the Rohingya people have brought Burma back into the limelight internationally. In the Bicycle Detail section, make sure there is a pocket or handbag on the bicycle. You should take a small backpack if no handbag or handbag is included (see bicycle details).

The majority of the larger cities and the island - your guide will guide you on your way. It can be changed during the whole trip at a bank or currency bureau, even if the costs are not always so low. Note the schedules and fares on the Appointments & Fees by Date of Departures page for the available rooms for this trip every nocturnal.
