Direct Flights to MyanmarFlights to Myanmar
Straight to Laos? - The Myanmar Message Board
Straight to Laos? So, which carriers are offering this direct to Laos, direct to Laos, direct to Laos? When this works for you, it is less expensive to travel with Air Asia to Udon Thani, Thailand (via Bangkok). From the Friendship Bridge to Vientiane, Laos, it is only about 60-90 min. by coach.
If you want to stop there, Nong Khai, Thailand, is a nice city on the Thai side of the Mekong, if you want to take a direct plane to Laos? then you might as well take Airasia from Bangkok to Vientienne.... Direct plane to Laos? Direct plane to Laos? The thread has been discontinued due to apathy.

Dragoonair launches direct flights to Myanmar in January
From January, Hong Kong will be linked to Yangon, Myanmar's biggest town and former capitol, by direct flights. Dragonair's flights are part of the growing relationship between Hong Kong and the land that has emerged from years of economical and policy separation. Myanmar Airways International (MAI) also has direct flights to Hong Kong, although no launch date has been made.
A group of Hong Kong producers and Myanmar embassy representatives spoke to each other about the possibilities for investing in the state. Patrick Yeung, CEO of Dragoonair, announced the new Yangon service: "The launch of this new location will further reinforce Hong Kong's status as a major air transport centre. Currently Hong Kong travelers travel via Bangkok, Guangzhou or Singapore to Myanmar and it may take seven hour to the city.
With the new flights, which will be operated four days a week, the trip will be reduced to five-hour. The last time Cathay Pacific had a direct duty was in the 1940'. Hong Kong to Myanmar direct flights were temporarily operated by Hong Kong Express and MAI until 2008. Wimn Kahine, MAI General Deputy General manager of Sale andarketing, said that the carrier had initially scheduled to recommence direct services on the line from December, with flights three flights a day per time.
"Hongkong International did not give us convenient time. Companies and tour operators greeted the new Dragoonair alliance. Felix Chung Kwok-pan, president of the Hong Kong Apparel Society, said a group of textiles, apparel and watches producers were interested in creating an "industrial park" on the outskirts of Yangon, as the United States relaxed Myanmar's trading sanction after Burma's regime's political reform in September.
Chung, the new legislator for the clothing and textiles industry, said he headed an economic mission with the Yangon based Council for Economic Development in June. In Hong Kong today, he held a meeting with Myanmar consular officials to consider the suggestion. "Direct flights are good because they can spare us a few extra time.
Yiu-chung, head of the Council, said he expects there to be packages organized by MYMCA. Said he believes Yangon with its long and wealthy past will become a favorite holiday spot for its people.
