During the early 1900s, Kaushalya (Smita Jaykar) heard that her younger boy, Devdas (Shah Rukh Khan), is about to go home after he joined the faculty of jurisprudence in England 10 years ago. It is Kaushalya who recounts to her neighbour Sumitra (Kirron Kher), who is over the moon. Sumitra's subsidiary Parvati "Paro" Chakraborty (Aishwarya Rai) and Devdas are connected by a profound relationship that is deeply ingrained in their first years.
By the time Devdas was sent to England, Paro had lighted an olive light to arrange his comeback. As Devdas comes back, the relationship between him and Paro turns into it. Everybody thinks Devdas and Paro will get hitched, but Devdas' intriguing sister-in-law Kumud (Ananya Khare) recalls Kaushalya Paro's motherly descent of naughty girl and naautanki actors, which is unreasonable for the Mukherjee mothers.
She openly proclaims her wish that Devdas and Paro get married, and Kaushalya refuses her openly and degrades her by saying that she comes from a lower classes. As Devdas' dad Paro also refuses, Devdas abandons his parents' home and flees to a whorehouse. In Paro's epistle he mistakenly says that there has never been true romance between them.
Soon Devdas realises his error in letting him down. During her marriage he goes back to her and asks her to run away, but Paolo rejects and reminds him how easy it was to throw her away. That Devdas swears to see her again before he died. From her new man tells him that he only marries her to be a mum to his kids and the woman of the property, but that his passion is only for his deceased first woman.
Devdas, who has a broken heart and loses Paro, constantly relocates to Chandramukhi's whorehouse and becomes an alcoholist. As Devdas' dad lies on his death bed, he asks for his boy Devdas, but Devdas comes later, at his dad's burial, embarrassed and obviously intoxicated. Finally Devdas gets so sick that the smallest amount of booze could slay him.
but Kumud told his mom that Devdas stole the keys. Her and Devdas are banned. In Chandramukhi's whorehouse, where she is accused of making Devdas get drunk, Chandramukhi quickly realises that Chandramukhi is in love with Devdas. Parto is urging Devdas to stop drinkin', but Devdas stays willful.
Promising to come to her one last visit before he passes away. Chandramukhi is invited by Chandramukhi to a Durga Puja party with her husbands and presents her in-laws without giving away Chandramukhi's work. And he also told Bhuvan about Paro's relation to Devdas. Bhuvan therefore prohibits Bhuvan Curo from ever vacating the villa.
Chandramukhi is told that she must let him go and chooses to visit the land; in one go he encounters his old student companion Chunnibabu (Jackie Shroff), who asks him to sip in the name of friendliness. Because Devdas knows it will be deadly. At the brink of extinction Devdas journeys to Paro's home to keep his promises and collapses under a fallen pole in front of the arch.
Suddenly, he tries to get through the villa. He is gazing at a blurry picture of him, but the doors shut shortly before she can get to him and leave her sobs inside. With his last gasp Devdas is whispering Paro's name as he is dying and immediately Paro's torch is flickering.
Devdas Khan was 36 years old and received several awards. Dixite was 34 years old when she became Chandramukhi and was acclaimed by many. As a 28-year-old, Rai was Paro and established himself in the game.
