Khungju (Korean pronunciation:[t??u?.d?u]) is a town in the North Kungcheong region of South Korea. The Chungju (??, ??) is a small village in Northhungcheong, South Korea. The Chungju (not to be mixed up with the province capitol Cheongju) is a practical traffic junction for different places in the Middle Korean mountain range. It' a nice place rich in touristic springs and Jungwon (the centre of a Korean field) cultural life.

This is also the home of Ban Ki Moon, the Secretary-General of the United Nations. The useful tourism information bureau has a desk inside the coach siding. Chungju's glittering new Chungju coach depot is situated on the north side of the city in a large building with a Lotte Mart supermarket.

Danyang has daily sailings every hour (1:30, ?,200). You can take a very picturesque boat trip over Chungju Sea to Danyang during the summer months (2 hrs, .000), and you can take a round trip on the sea all year round (unless the sea is freezing in winter). Departure from the embarkation point is by 301 coach (30 min, ), which departs from the other side of the road from the embarkation point, but check with the touristic information centre for the timetables (and if the boat is running) as there are only 9 busses per night.

Chungju-shi has two great resorts: Angseong-oncheon is situated in the north-west and can be accessed by number 365 shuttle service. From there, you can take a public transport service in front of the Chungju regional train station. Hi-Spa, which is situated on the major road near the coach stop, is the most important town.
