China State Travel

Did I want to check whether we need a special permit to enter China? Note that traveling to Chin State is not suitable for everyone. The travel restrictions for the Chin State / Mt Victoria Nat Ma Taung region have been relaxed and tourism in the region is promoted. The journey to Chin State is mainly by car on bad roads that run along the mountain slopes and valleys.

Are there any specific permissions that tourist need to travel to Chin State? - Quin State Forum

Are there any specific permissions that tourist need to travel to Chin State? In April I plan to go to Chin State via Mizoram in India. Did I want to see if we needed a specific visa to go to China? You do not need a permission for Mindat and Kanpalet area in the southern Chin state? You do not need a permission for the northern Chin state (Hakka, Falam, etc.)? You are not permitted to go to Matupi (approximately in the middle...).....

If you are an India citizen, you can use the Zokhawthar/Rihkowdhar checkpoint - I ran into some Myanmar Indians who took part in the checkpoint last year - but it is NOT open to other nations, a few months ago a fellow Frenchman of mine tried a visa with a validity (Indian) visa.

From there you can drive via Teddim to Kalaymyo or via Falam to Hakha (better with your own four-wheel drive) - just below Hakha (Matupi tsp.) you need a permission..... Are there any specific permissions that tourist need to travel to Chin State? Are there any specific permissions that tourist need to travel to Chin State?

Are there any specific permissions that tourist need to travel to Chin State? Paletwa is far from close to the itinerary on this map...Paletwa is as far northwest as Mrauk-U and only available from there (zoom in on the maps and Paletwa is B/W from Matupi, about 60-80km as the crow flies). Please note that the distance to the maps is not too long. Mattupi - quite sure, the only way you can get an MTT license for Matupi, if you can even get one now, is through a travel agency, and on a journey with them....IE. not for a single motorcycle tour.

Does a tourist need specific permissions to travel to Chin State? so the round tour I want can't take place? I can' t say for sure, but probably...the only place that seems to be a problem these days is Matupi....not sure why...? Are there any specific permissions that tourist need to travel to Chin State?

Surely you need a permission for Matupi, you will not arrive in Palletwa nsp on this journey. Hakha and Matupi's "road" is the poorest you have ever seen, there are no automobiles to drive and only a few village people here and then on a motorcycle between some of the towns. You should also involve Teddim (plus Tonzang) and Rihkhowdar in the south.
