So why the move to Chiang Mai, Thailand was such a great one. Live the digital nomad lifestyle
At New Year's 2015 I resolved to say "fuck it" and book a plane to Thailand. Since then I have been fortunate enough to call Chiang Mai, Thailand my home. With a burgeoning digital nomad community, Chiang Mai has created the ideal place for a long break to try out a location-independent life style and stimulate my travel blogs.
It was my first time in Thailand and I had my doubt before I left, I was taken back by the crowd of folks who immediately said that I would fell in sweetness with Chiang Mai. It is one of those interesting, one-of-a-kind places to click.
The move to Chiang Mai is a good option, as the town is usually only half as expensive as Bangkok, Thailand, but without the hectic pace of a big metropolis with a more relaxed atmosphere. Do you think about doing the same and move to Chiang Mai? One wonders why one makes the effort of a European winter when one can take a low-cost plane to Thailand and lead a high standard of living for almost nothing.
The allure of thai cooking I didn't see before I got there, two month after my journey to Chiang Mai, nothing but thailand cooking was unbelievable! The Chiang Mai has a large choice of restaurants and the more restaurants, the more tasty the cuisine. It' so much enjoyable to discover a civilization through dining and Thailand has it all.
A great way to meet others working on-line. That was the most important motivation for me to visit Chiang Mai. I had never encountered other people before. We' re all kind of in the wilderness doing our own thing, scouting the globe and I've never been able to make it to any kind of travelling blogshows.
Many encounters, you never really get lonely. I went to: 2x Digital Nomad List trekking, Chiang Mai trekking bloggers-dinners, FBA masters, Digital Nomad Summit and lots of farewell party, which was also great for newcomers.
I am always anxious to put my balls in different bins, as long as the work is on-line and on the move, it is something that I like.
