There is a great need for currency in Myanmar. In Southeast Asia, with more than 53 million inhabitants, currency is the most important means of payments.

There is also stiff competitive pressure for the provision of monetary value. The CB Bank already runs one of the biggest ATM grids in the state and wants to further extend its current status by double the number of ATM machines in the self-service area.
