Burma Visa on ArrivalBurmese Visa upon arrival
One more last minutes hindrance, because my wife's pass expires 3 month after ours. Now we were less than 2 wards before departure and a permit for a touristic visa lasts 2 wards! Our was carried out within 1 weekend against payment of a charge and exhibited the night before our departure!
It' been exhibited on Burmese government records that have been passed on to my e-mail. We have been asked by a number of Brazilian carriers to review our visa application before embarking in Chicago. Perhaps we used the same agency? You thought I knew about the visa regulations.
Myanmar Visa and other paperwork
Burma has committed itself to facilitating the arrival of migrant travellers into its territories since the opening of the Burmese economy to the tourist industry. As with any administration process, however, it is necessary to be aware of the particularities of a visit to Burma. Here is all you need to know to get the most out of your stay: what are the specifics you need to consider before your arrival and the different kinds of Myanmar visas available to you.
11,000 km separates Paris from Yangon, the French's most important arrival airfield in Burma. Mostly you have to stop in Bangkok before you go to Yangon. It' s about 13h00 between Paris and Yangon with this train (it will be necessary to include the waiting period in Bangkok).
Except for one carrier in Italy (Blue Panorama) and the one in Germany (Condor), Yangon International is operated only by carriers in Asia such as Singapore Air or Korean Air. Burma Airways International is the domestic carrier. We recommend that you make an early reservation before arriving in Burma, especially in high seasons.
Please also be aware that vacation cheques are not acceptable in Burma and the use of debit and credit card is very rare. When you fly to Myanmar and start your vacation, make sure that your card is still in force 6 month before the end of your trip. Getting a visa to enter Burma is very simple.
Myanmar has two ways to get a visa. Please be cautious, in any case you must obtain a visa before entering Burma; there are no visa waivers in this state. Burma's embassy in Paris is issuing a 28-day touristic visa. You will be asked for your visa application: your pass (valid 6 month after the end of your trip), the visa request card, two photographs, a confirmation of your journey with a hotel accommodation schedule and address, evidence of your flight of departure and the visa requirements (50 euros).
When you do not want to or cannot come back to Paris to take your visa with you, you can take a pre-franked note with you. From 2014 it will be possible to make a temporary inquiry on-line on the website of the Myanmar government: http://evisa.moip.gov.mm/. At the moment of submission of the inquiry you will be asked for a certain amount of information such as your identity number, various pieces of information and a photograph.
They are also asked to make payment via Internet using a bank account, visa fee of 47 ?. When your request is approved, you will be sent an e-mail that you only need to present to obtain your visa upon arrival in Burma. The Myanmar visa process is available at three major airport locations worldwide:
Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyidaw. As of last September, you can also use this method at three landing points with Thailand (Tachileik, Myawaddy and Kawthaung). Please be aware that every kid over 7 years of age that appears in the parents' passports must have an identity card. The Myanmar visa is the most important administration formalities when it comes to the preparation of your Burma itineraries.
