There is a 80 Baht minibus for those who want to go to Myanmar and drive to the frontier around 9:20 am. Kanchanaburi central station is about 10 minutes by motorcycle from the city. You will be dropped off at the Thai frontier of Phu Nam Ron by coach or minibus.
Simply go ahead on the lefthand side and you will see Thai Immigration. Complete the Thai departures map and say goodbye to Thailand. Well the interesting part, the No-Mans-Land, there is a 100 Baht per passenger vanservice. Well, you're gonna say that I just paid 80 baht for an hour and a half from Kanchanaburi and now 100 baht.
Full services are provided by the Three Dawei immigration agency, where you can buy a direct to Dawei for 800 Baht. It' a pretty weird shift in the center of the street. Transporter or whatever will dropped you off at Myanmar Immigration.
To those who got a trip to Myanmar without purchasing the 800 Baht option. There will be something around 500 Baht - 600 Baht to go to Dawei. It' to tell you what has happened in the last four years. For a start, the street is not being constructed for tourist use.
It is linked to the largest deep-sea port in Southeast Asia, about 30 km from Dawei. This beautiful highway, as I got to know it, was built by a Thai firm. So, they made a fairly good track. As I recall, my uninterrupted March 2015 was 3. 5h.
The last run in the middle of September 17 was with a stop 6h. This contractor withdrew from the site at the beginning of 2015. - I have to update February 18th - The street was fixed and we look now again into a travel duration of 4-5h. There was also a great resistance from the Daweipeans.

For the first 1. 25 hrs on a regular asphalt track, after that it gets quite a bump. As soon as you have arrived in Myanmar, you will be postmarked. At the Thai side, the drivers will take you right before you enter the country. After about 150 metres you will see a larger coach on your lefthand side, which will take you to Kanchanaburi for 50 Baht.
So if you don't want to waiting, just ask the car to go to Kanchanaburi. From Kanchanaburi central coach terminal you have many options to travel to Bangkok. Minivans to Bangkok should be about 100-120 Baht (3 hours).
Morchite would also be the best way to Bangkok International Airpor. If you have to make a plane ride from Bangkok around the middle of the morning, you will be in town around 8 pm and have to head to the Aiport.
