New in Daly City - Burma Cafe - Restaurants - San Francisco
One and a half years ago, when Little Yangon opened, we found out that Daly City is one of Burma's most populous centres of the Bay Area. There is now a second restaurant in the municipality, Burma Cafe. Situated next to T C Pastry, the coffee shop is the first restaurant for Burmese Mandarin people.
There is an appealing interieur with deep shades of ground, a few padded cabins, a lounge in the background and a long bank on a whitewashed sofa. It felt too darkness for luncheon on a wet afternoons and I was the only client. http://www.flickr.com/photos/melaniew... http://www.flickr.com/photos/melaniew... http://www.flickr.com/photos/melaniew... http://www.flickr.com/photos/melaniew... http://www.flickr.com/photos/melaniew... The Burma Cafe also has a licence for wines and brews and serves Tiger, Chang and Anchor Steam brews.
I was the first and only non-Burmese client to order it this way in her short three-month life," she said. I' m said that the chefs added more minced Jalapño chilies because they thought I was Burmese and wanted more warmth. http://www.flickr.com/photos/melaniew... They were crunchy pieces and I especially liked the crunchy taste of lots of roasted Chilean jelly and clove.
Dehydrated shrimps in powder form offer additional deepness and can also be ordered without vegetable variant. http://www.flickr.com/photos/melaniew... My Burmese meal, Ono Kauswer, or coir noodlesoup, $8.95. Beautifully presented with hard-boiled eggs, crispy onions, coriander twigs and crunchy roasted noodles, the sumptuous broth with chickpeas crumbs had the densities of thick powder.
This dish is pleased with the home-made taste of good broth, soft golden shavings and cubed brown beef. Heavily on the chocolate milks, which give an especially butter-like consistency and a coat of crimson on the top, the aromas with a little more lime and chilli from the drinker' s desk came to the fore. http://www.flickr.com/photos/melaniew...
Much as I was enjoying my luncheon here, I would probably go back to Little Yangon first to get more variation and lower prizes if I ate a can. I would choose Burma Café for a group or to present Burmese cuisine in a more enjoyable environment.
