Weather in Bagan - Hot Season Begins
The weather: It is the hottest time of the year in Bagan, and the temperatures can be as high as 40°C. Weather in Bagan is colder in the morning and evening (approx. 16-20°C). One of the most popular of Bagan's sanctuaries. In addition to Buddhas, you can discover Myanmar's past from the panels and pictures inside the sanctuary.
Besides Ananda you can also see the most wealthy of the temples, Shwezigon Paya, the architecture of Sulamani temples and the interior murals, or see a sundown from the top of the Shwesandaw Pagoda. It is strongly advised to take two or more day to discover the levels with different means of transportation.
When you take a guide, you will see three to five shrines and couples in one of them. Whatever your journey, you will find your own surprise in the Bagan plain. Your feet and acromion should always be coverd when attending a temple or pagoda.
Destroyed temples: In 2016, a major quake struck Bagan and inflicted considerable damages on many shrines. Though most of the churches are open to the general population, many of them are being fixed, so it is unavoidable that you will see some churches with tarpaulins on them, which can easily interfere with your stay.
You will definitely be feeling unpleasantly warm and arid in the torrid afternoons, especially between 12:00 and 16:00. As it is extremly warm and arid in Bagan and the temperatures are very high at noon, the daily activity in the mornings in Bagan is usually organized from 5.00 am to 11.00 am and from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
Usually the activity starts at 16.00 in the afternoons and ends at 18.00-19.00 with dinner.
