Bagan Min Thar Express

The Bagan Min Thar Express

What's the best way to get to Bagan from Yangon? It' going to be difficult to find a traveler who wants to visit Myanmar but not Bagan. Since most travelers reach Myanmar at Yangon International Airport, the simplest way to Bagan is to take a plane. Bagan's nearest international airports are Nyaung U and Bagan.

I was going to drive from Yangon to Bagan, and I did some research. So I took the car off because it was like a slow trip and I didn't have much free travel on the street. Again I was reading some not so good critiques about the coach to Bagan when the crowd on the coach were complaining about noise, film on TV and lights on the nocturne.

Luckily for me it was a very enjoyable trip! When I bought a Bagan Min Thar VIP Express Coach pass with my Oway debit cards on-line. It was planned for 20:00 from Gate 1, Bagan Lane, Bagan Min Thar Coach Gate in Aung Mingalar Highway City.

There is a central train terminal near the city of Yangon. In addition, there may be heavy night driving, so you should leave Yangon at least 90 mins before your trip. After starting the coach we were serviced with a bottled drink and some refreshments.

Approximately three hour drive, the coach stops at a place with a restaurant. And so I thought I'd buy a glass of hot tub soda. Later I found out that I was paying a bonus to buy the cuppa. So it' better to have some food and drink when you get out of Yangon.

At about 4:30 a.m. the coach arrives in Nyaung U. The name of the coach terminal is Bagan Shwe Pyi Highway Coach Terminal, which is about 5 km from the city and 10 km from the old Bagan. All in all it was a good trip, comfortably, at a steady pace and with a good rest.
