The Ayeyarwady Region (Burmese: ????????????????????, pronounced[?èjàw?dì dè?a? ? d?í], S'gaw Karen: ????????; formerly Ayeyarwady Division and Irrawaddy Division), is a region of Myanmar that occupies the Danube area of the Ayeyarwady River (Irrawaddy River). Bordering the Bago region to the N, the Bago and Yangon regions to the E ast and the Bay of Bengal to the S and W ast.

The Ayeyarwady region is bordered in the western part by the Rakhine Yoma (Arakan Mountains) and large areas have been grubbed up for growing rices, which has led to its outstanding status as the country's most important riceproducer, which it continues to enjoy in the twenty-first century. Ngawun, Pathein and Toe are renowned from the streams emanating from the powerful Ayeyarwady.

Ayeyarwady's capitol is Pathein. The Chaungtha Beach and Ngwesaung Beach are favourite resort for Burmese and non Burmese.
