From 2014 to 2017, AYA recorded 84% increase in deposit and receivables. The number of branches of AYA became 225 at the end of July 2017, up from 64 in March 2014. By 2016, the EIB was one of six creditors to participate in a two-stage JICA SME credit-program.
Launched in June 2017, the EIB selected Finastra (then Misys) to revise its key lending system. Launched in August 2017, the company has selected mFino as its partner for prepayments, e-commerce and payment processing applications. These include the adaptation of AYA Bank's online purse collection offering, with the company releasing schedules for the introduction of additional benefits such as in-store purchasing and rewards programmes.
In the near term, the bench is considering the use of block chain. A MPU-JCB co-branded corporation loan - the first such loan in Myanmar - was launched in November 2017. In some areas, the EIB has begun to lend on the basis of projectfinancing and, in some areas, on the basis of operating profit.
AYA and Yoma are testing the MPU's ATM transfers functionality in June 2018. AYA' s loan facility for $20 million was contracted with USAID in June 2018 to lend to microfinance institutions and small enterprises, mainly in the agriculture area.
