7772 - Boeing 777-200LR

Boeing 777 is a series of long haul twin-engine wide-body airplanes designed and built by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The " Triple Seven " is characterized, among other things, by the biggest turbo-fan power units of all airplanes, six tires on each major undercarriage, a full-round core section and a shovel-shaped rear con.

The 777 was jointly engineered with eight large carriers to substitute older wide-body jets and overcome the gap in capacities between the Boeing 767 and 747. It is the first fly-by-wire Boeing airplane to have computer-controlled control systems. This was also the first passenger airplane to be fully computer-aided. In 1995, the 777-200ER was put into operation, followed by the 777-200ER series in 1997.

First 777-200, -200ER and -300 models are fitted with General Electric GE90, Pratt & Whitney PW4000 or Rolls-Royce Trent 800. 777-300ER with longer ranges and 777-200LR with extreme ranges went into operation in 2004 and 2006 respectively, while the 777F, a cargo model, made its debut in February 2009; all of these models are powered by GE90 high-performance powerplants with longer-wingtip.

777-200LR is the long haul jet in the whole planet, capable of flying around more than half the planet, and the longest non-stop flight recorded by any airline. It was first used by United Airlines on June 7, 1995. By May 2017, 60 clients had ordered 1,911 aircrafts of all types, including 1,490 delivered[1] The most frequent and succesful model is the 777-300ER with 731 deliveries and 815 orders;[1] Emirates will operate the biggest 777 freight and passengers jet fleets with 157 from July 2016.

10 ] From October 2016, 777 was part of six ship collision claims; Asiana Airlines' flight 214 in July 2013 was the first deadly casualty in 18 years. Air carriers have purchased the model as a relatively fuel-efficient option to other wide-body aircrafts and are using it more and more on long-haul overseas flights.

Completed in 2011, the 787 Dreamliner will share the construction characteristics and a joint pilot certification with the 777. Boeing in November 2013 announces the creation of improved 777-8 and 777-9 versions, jointly called 777X, with compound airfoils, 777X powerplants and other technology designed for the 787.

New 777X model range to go into operation by 2020.
