AFRIQIYA AIRWAYS is a state-owned carrier headquartered in Tripoli, Libya. afriqiya airways' principal hub is located at Tripoli International Airport, and the carrier is a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organisation and the International Air Transport Association. Tripoli International Airport, the airline's air traffic control center, has been fully operational since July 2014 and will be decommissioned in February 2016.
AFRIQIYA AIRWAYS currently has a small rail service from Mitiga International Airport. AFRIQIYA AIRWAYS serves routes such as Istanbul, Tripoli, Bedia, Alexandria, Niamey, Kufra, Antalya and Amman. Afriqiyah Airways and LIBYA should have merged into one carrier in 2010, which was later delayed. Afriqiyah Airways ceased all air traffic on 17 March 2011 as a result of the civil war in Libya and the resulting no-fly area over the land, which was implemented by NATO.
AFRIQIYA AIRWAYS is the Arabian name for' African' and its airplanes are lacquered in distinctive colors that reflect the colors of Africa: bright blue, orange, red, blue, orange and amber. afriqiya airways operates four flights aweek from Tripolis to London Gatwick on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. afriqiya airways serves some of the most important African cities such as Abidjan, Accra, Lagos, Johannesburg and Douala.
Afriqiyah Airways' aircraft consist of Airbus A319, Airbus A320, Airbus A330-300 and has also ordered Airbus A350. Previously, the inhabitants of the Obari region had to go 400 kilometers southwest to Ghat or 200 kilometers northeast to Tamenhint near Sebha to reach Tripoli.
It will provide Afriqiyah with a precious extra flow of revenue that will broaden and spread its revenue basis, especially in times when it is difficult to convert dinar into livelihood.
